Measure your hips before ordering, not your waist — the hip is the measurement that matters with non-stretch fabric because the cut cannot stretch to accommodate. If you're between sizes, go up. The waistband will have slightly more room, which a belt fixes easily; but a hip seam that's too tight will pull across the seat with every step and there's nothing you can do about it. Most customers who return non-stretch pants ordered their usual stretch-denim size by feel rather than measuring.

Non-stretch cotton has a structured, slightly board-like feel when new that softens significantly after 2–3 wears and washes. By the end of the first week the fibers relax and the fabric drapes against the body rather than holding its shape away from it. For a pear shape, the most common issue with non-stretch bottoms is the gap at the back waistband when the hips are larger relative to the waist — a belt solves this quickly. The key measurement to get right is the thigh circumference, not the waist: if the thigh fits comfortably, the rest of the sizing logic follows.

The camo is a fabric dye (printed or yarn-dyed depending on the construction) rather than a surface ink, which means it doesn't crack. Fading is gradual and even — cold wash inside-out slows it, hot wash accelerates it. The darkest tones (typically the green and brown in traditional camo) fade slightly faster than neutral tones, which is what creates the worn-in look over time. If you want to preserve the original contrast as long as possible: cold wash, no tumble dry, no direct-sun drying.

Keep everything else completely solid and neutral — white, black, grey, or a muted earth tone. The camo is already the statement; adding anything with print, pattern, or graphic competes with it and tips into costume territory. A fitted white tee or black ribbed tank with clean-sole trainers or ankle boots is the formula that works consistently. Avoid khaki or olive tones elsewhere in the outfit — head-to-toe military palette reads as a uniform.

At a true petite height (under 5'2") these will likely need a 3–5cm hem taken up — the standard inseam is cut for an average height of around 5'5". Other than length, the proportions work well: the waist and hip measurements scale correctly to petite frames, and the cut doesn't change in a way that looks proportionally wrong. The rise and pocket placement are the more critical details for petite fits: a high rise elongates the leg; a pocket that sits too low (below mid-thigh) can visually shorten an already short.
